As you may well know by now, thanks to you, we created a massive push into parliament and we got young people on the national agenda.
We reached out to 1000s of young people, 30 MPs (that we know of) were contacted by young people, formal motions were put forward in the senate and the house of reps for a minister and chatter all throughout parliament on young people. The result was big (we’ve collated the spoils below)!
Let’s not stop here. While we have momentum, let’s keep the pressure on, because talk is cheap, and nothing has changed. Yet.
We’ve put together a little video that you can:
a) share to those who joined in, as a thanks and LOOK WHAT YOU DID!
b)push out more widely to target the Prime Minster during National Youth Week.

With this video, we’re going to direct people – young and old – to the campaign website <www.youthontheagenda.org.au> and then take their voices to Minister Porter – our next stop for a voice in national affairs.
Thanks again for all your support!
FYI - some of the spoils!
We made it into HANSAR and Sharkie’s speech:
The Australian Youth Affairs Coalition was defunded, effectively, ensuring that young people had no advocacy platform. I would argue that, if there had been an effective minister for youth at the time of the 2014 budget, we would not have had these harsh measures.
